From June 4th to 8th, the La Prat’s high school welcomed the Italian and the Spanish teams of the project for an intense but wonderful week.
Saturday, 2th June and Sunday, 3th June 2018
We welcomed the Italian and Spanish team. All the students were with their host families. They have discovered the surroundings and spent time with us. Many friendships were made.
Monday, 4th June 2018
We began the day by a treasure hunt to make all the teams visit the school.
Then we started our first work session. We have discovered the surprise tracks, looking for solutions, and tried to imagine the concatenation of all the tracks.
Then we went to work, programming our robots and exchange some tips with our Italian and Spanish mates.
Tuesday, 5th June 2018
In the morning, we went to the work room to continue programming our robots, make some tests and overcome our difficulties.
In the afternoon, we went to visit the beautiful city of Cluny, it’s historical center and the abbey, known to have been a major religious center.
Then we went to the national stud farm, to see some horses and a show.
Wednesday, 6th June 2018
We spent the all day in the city of Lyon. It’s a major French city known for its gastronomy and the invention of cinema.
We have visited the old town and its typical streets, the Basilica of Fourvière, the Parc de la tête d’or.
We walked a lot, but it was a wonderful day!
Thursday, 7th June 2018
In the morning, we had to work on our robots. We had in mind the final contest, so we tried to be as mush efficient as possible. We began to think about the free dance examination, about how we could manage to make three robots dance together.
Then we left the school to meet the mayor of Cluny and present him our project.
In the afternoon, we went to the local airfield to have a flight in small planes. It was wonderful to discover the surroundings from the sky. Some lucky students have also been able to pilot a little.
Friday, 8th June 2018
This is the last day. In the morning, we worked a lot, to finish the programming of the robots and set the last details. We had to work a lot with our Italian and Spanish mates because the final contest rewards the best transnational teem. It was very intense!
In the afternoon, we had the final contest of the project. Each robot has had two trials on two different tracks. The best performance has been considered by our benevolent arbiters. Then we summed the points for each team.
Saturday, 9th June and Sunday, 10th June 2018
It’s time for the Italian team and Spanish team to leave. It was difficult to say goodbye to our friends. But everybody was pleased with this week of hard working and visiting such beautiful places.
